Do not let the title fool you, We Will Rock You, the long running rock musical on the West End, is nothing compared to its baby brother Rock of Ages. As Rock of Ages is a realistic portrayal of rock music in the 1980’s, We Will Rock You is a mind-blowing, earth-shaking, make you jump out of your seats performance surrounding the music of the 70’s British rock band, Queen!
A musical based on the legendary band is set to grace the West End come 24 September and (shortly!) be staying until 19 January 2013.
The Fast 5:
1.) The show celebrates the 50th year mark of The Beatles releasing their first single 'Love Me Do' in October 1962.
2.) The show features 20 of The Beatles songs and even features film footage as well. The show focuses on the beginning of their career in Liverpool and leads up to the craze of Beatlemania.
3.) The show marks the first time the rights for various Beatles songs have been lent to the West End for a production. Some of the song choices include: Hey Jude, She Loves You, Yesterday, Come Together and the iconic Let It Be.
4.) The show will run at the Prince of Wales Theatre, where in November 1963 The Beatles performed in front of The Queen of England herself.
5.) The show has been created by RAIN who lent their creative stylings to the 2010 Beatles Broadway tribute production.
